Debt collection?
A solicitor is not such a bad idea.
If you have debtors who fail to settle or do not settle on time, calling in a solicitor
is probably not the first option that springs to mind. That is a pity because
commissioning Stuy Advocaten does not only cost less than you think; our approach is fast,
direct and thus more effective. The main reasons for this are:
- The use of collection agencies and bailiffs (unfortunately) no longer has the desired
effect. The procedure often has to be concluded in court, which means you will need the
services of a solicitor anyway.
- The assistance of a solicitor is legally required for the collection of debts exceeding
€ 5.000,-, the levying of attachments, the petition of bankruptcy and summary
proceedings.
- If legal action has to be taken solicitors can proceed more swiftly than other
professionals, particularly because the assistance of a solicitor often has to be sought
anyway. This means that the collection procedure can be carried out more efficiently and
you have access to the credit due sooner.
- The difference between a solicitor and any other form of judicial advisor is that the
solicitor is on your side as your own legal adviser and works independently,
professionally, and according to a strict code of conduct (the Dutch Bar).
